Initial Ideas

Idea 1

Fashion Video

For this idea we would like to produce a fashion video. The video would be showcasing the current styles and trends in modern street fashion.
I think it would be interesting to shoot the video as if it was a night out, following a group of people as they get ready, pre drink, go out etc. While all the time showcasing the garment that they are wearing.
More like a short film than a moving look book. Each shot would not be a model stood styling the clothes it would just be someone doing something normal but at the same time showing off the clothes by just wearing them, with subtle close ups and moving stills of the models and clothes.

A similar example is 'UM PALACE BRO' by palace skateboards for their reebok collaboration https://youtu.be/T6vEajLPxoQ

Who to use?

The brilliant thing about being at UWE, more specifically Bower Ashton is that I am constantly surrounded by creative people and creative people are usually at the forefront of fashion and style so finding models wouldn't be hard. I think the hardest thing would actually deciding who to use as there's so much choice.

What equipment?

Possibly DSLR for the ease and as this will be my first attempt at producing a film I think I should use something that I already know how to use. I would love to produce it on VHS as I think it would work perfectly with the aesthetic but I imagine the editing process would be very hard.

Idea 2

Music Video for 'Gokotta' by Joe

For this idea we would be producing a music video for Joe Baeyzer. We would be producing the video for his beautifully tranquile 'Gokotta' (https://joobaeyzer.bandcamp.com/album/g-kotta). The meaning of the song is "dawn picnic to hear the first birdsong", the track is a calm instrumental comprised of soft guitar and piano. We want the video to depict the start of a women's day, following her first steps outside as she listens to the song.
We will also be adding a selection of stills and video that we will be overlaying onto the video. This is create a beautiful hazy/dreamlike aesthetic and will support the overlapping audio.

Who to use?

A women, roughly 20-25, medium height, medium length light hair

What equipment?

A DSLR, we want the video to look top quality so we will be using the highest quality camera possible.

Tascam to record, diegetic sounds

A shoulder mount to hold the camera steady
